Weddings in Charleston SC – Krista and Tom met 4 1/2 years ago on a blind date set up by one of Tom’s close friends. They went to a baseball game that wasn’t really interesting so they went bowling….and Tom totally kicked Krista’s ass! Haha. Surprisingly she called him back and the rest is history!
After their engagement, they started planning their unforgettable wedding. Originally, they wanted a destination wedding in the Virgin Islands but it wasn’t in the cards (fortunately after what happened there after the recent hurricane). So they decided on a rustic wedding instead of the traditional beach wedding here in Myrtle Beach. The couple stumbled upon Alhambra Hall by chance while visiting other venues in Charleston, SC and immediately fell in LOVE!
The Groom had a good story, and I just had to share it! “Funny story about Krista’s first time meeting my father. My father lives sorta off the beaten path in NC now (retired from NJ). Our first trip to his “farm,” Krista got nervous about a few things…..as we pulled up to my fathers house, we passed a small family cemetery next to his driveway.
Her first thought was I was bringing her there to “disappear!” Then, as we pulled up to the porch, my dad was sitting there in a rocking chair with an antique shotgun across his lap rocking away….total deliverance moment! Krista was such a good sport for such an embarrassing moment for me! That weekend, we took my fathers four wheeler for some trail rides and fed some horses at the neighbor’s farms. I tried everything I could to make her feel like family. Even after 4 1/2 years together, she still speaks about how much she loved that weekend above other vacations to exquisite destinations!”

The newly weds enjoyed every bit of their simple wedding because it was a symbol of “us.” Tom & Krista were truly proud of everyone that was there and it even felt like family, not like “hired help.” Half of the leftover food and dessert even went to the Mount Pleasant Police Officers working that night! “It really was the BEST night of our lives and are glad you were there to be apart of it!”
Tom & Krista were troops when it rained… I mean RAINED on their big day… They kept a smile on their face and didn’t let the small things bother them. They got married inside rather than outside the venue but it was just as beautiful! The smiles on their faces lit up the room ~ The families were amazing and so were the guest! This easy going, fun and happy couple have a special place in my heart and I am so glad I was there to share all the memories with them!! Oh.. & ill never forget the sparkler exit… ever…. #FAIL 🙂 🙂
